10 Signs that He's a High Conflict Individual

August 3, 2020

Are you feeling nervous....

YOU FEEL ISOLATED

Do you feel like everyone you love has turned against you?

HE'S GASLIGHTING YOU

"Can't you take a joke?", "You're being so emotional", "I never said that", "Why can't you let go of the past?"

HE HAS A STRONG SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT

He may have unrealistic expectations

RATIONALIZATION OF EVERYTHING

Even when it makes no sense

BLAME

Places the blame on you or never takes responsibility for their actions.

NO ACCOUNTABILITY

There is always an excuse or something for the reasons for their bad behavior and unfortunately it never involves them.

Or you simply feel he's turned everyone against you. With the stories, the lies and the manipulation of others. I was surprised to hear there was a term for these people, "flying monkey's." It the people who do the shameful and hurtful things on this persons behalf. Some have the knowledge and others you will find the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Similar to Tina's history with her mother in law and in laws..they protect their own even if it's inconceivable the wrong they are doing. They follow this person blindly b/c it's easier than admitting the truth about this person and what they are capable of.

He has people "surprise" stop over and soon you realize the only people left in your world are "his" people. You are isolated. It happens over time. It's not something that happens overnight. Before you know it you know you don't like how it makes you feel but you can't find the right words to even explain what is being done to you.

The more you can learn and the more you can find support with others the more you can identify what is happening to you and start to find your own voice. The more you can make sense of the senseless and see you're not alone.
